The Ultimate Western Experience
Paddle N’ Saddle
For
those who are looking for the most powerful Whitewater in the Northwest
combined with the deepest gorge
in North America, The
Snake river in Hells Canyon (rated
class IV) offers 32 or 80 miles of the most enjoyable wilderness river
experience available. Rapids such as Wild Sheep, Granite Creek and
Waterspout linked with stretches of smooth flowing water will satisfy
even the most avid Whitewater junkie. The Snake River in Hells Canyon
offers the historian many interesting pictograph sites to explore and
photograph. For families, first time floaters, or experienced rafters,
the Lower Salmon River offers a
71mile-wilderness experience. The river flows through four spectacularly
colorful canyons. It is the longest free flowing river in the lower 48
states and is rated as a class III river. Along the river are white
sandy camping beaches where river runners shed their life jackets for
swimming and playing in the beautiful, clear, river pools. Some of the
rapids you will experience are Half and Half, Bodacious Bounce and Zig
Zag.Experience one of Idaho’s best-known and most popular Whitewater
rafting adventures, the Main Salmon River “The River of No
Return”. This trip is an ultimate
family vacation, but also offers exciting and exhilarating rapids for
the thrill seekers. You will enjoy the ride on rapids such as Salmon
Falls, Big Mallard and Growler. The many white sandy beaches and heavily
forested canyons captivate you while searching for wildlife as you
navigate the 80 miles of the Main Salmon bordering the Frank Church
Wilderness area. After
your exhilarating days on the
river of your choice you will enjoy a luxurious night at the Whitebird Summit Lodge. After dinner
you can relax in the hot tub or the steam room, grab a book and enjoy
the view from on top Whitebird Hill. Now its time to see what the
world looks like from on top of those ridges you have been admiring from
the river. You will have the choice of staying at Whitebird Summit Lodge
and enjoy the views of the Camas Prairie, the Seven Devils and Whitebird
Canyon. We have many activities for the family at the lodge ranging
from trail riding, hiking, mountain bike, fishing three rivers all near
by. Or you can choose to be somewhat adventuresome and spend a few
nights at the Historic Gilmore Ranch.
No roads, no TV, no phone! Here you will experience life as it was in
the early 1900’s, when the Gilmore Brothers homesteaded this area. Sit
back and relax around the campfire and enjoy the view of Gospel Hump.
You will still see snow on the peaks in late July. On 47 square mile of
land, trail riding is endless. Your chance to see an abundance of
wildlife on your trip including deer, elk, and even an occasional Moose,
Mountain Goat and Bald Eagles! Sleeping in a ranch house that was built
in the early 1900’s with private sleeping accommodations, sitting area
and full kitchen. This
is truly a once in a lifetime trip that cannot be matched and will
provide you with memories that you'll never forget! Come enjoy the
beauty of this rugged breathtaking land soon!! Call Terri Today
