Trail rides out of the lodge overlooking the Camas Prarie, the Gospel Hump  Wilderness area and the Salmon River Valley. Ride through historic grounds and listen to Frank tell the story of the Nez   Perce Indian war from 1877. Trace the steps of Chief White Bird and Chief Joseph.  On the full day rides enjoy a BBQ lunch with breathtaking views of the canyon below us. Our trail rides take place daily out of the lodge with half day trips and full day trips.

Hourly rides start at $25.00 an hour per person

1/2 day trail rides out of the Whitebird Summit Lodge   $65.00 per person

Full day trail rides out of the lodge include lunch    $125.00 per person

Children need to be 8 years old to ride

Rides are done daily from mid May through September.

Reservations required in advance.

We have 30 horses here at the Whitebird Summit Lodge and they live with us year around. They are gentle and safe for all types of riders. Ages from 8 to 80!

You might want to combine your stay with us and try your hand at White water rafting. A great combination to view the river looking up to through the canyon you have just rode on top of.
